Committees

A series of committees carry out the Council’s ongoing work and activities. Each is comprised of three or four members and may include expert advisors beyond the Council. Committees focus on particular projects or key issues. The Council meets monthly from September to June. Committees review their work and make recommendations during these meetings.

 

Executive

Administers and coordinates the activities and projects of the council and ensures that decisions taken at council meetings are acted upon in a timely manner.

 

Communications

Undertakes communications, outreach and partnership planning activities for the Council.

 

Operations

Identifies and leads Council's organizational planning, makes recommendations on arts and culture policies and programs, and ensures a high quality of human resources to serve the Council.

 

Initiatives

Identifies and undertakes Council priorities.

 

Joint Committees

Members of the Creative Nova Scotia Leadership Council work together with Arts Nova Scotia on three committees:

  • Status of the Artist Legislation - established to advance the implementation of the Status of the Artist Act
  • Awards Evening - oversees the planning for the annual awards
  • Endowment Fund - plans investment options for the Nova Scotia Arts Endowment Fund
