Christopher is the Executive Director of Culture and Heritage Development Division for the Nova Scotia Department of Communities, Culture and Heritage. Formerly, he occupied director level positions within the department, and was the first director of Arts Nova Scotia, the professional arts funding agency for the Province of Nova Scotia. Before joining the public service, Christopher had over twenty-five years’ experience in the cultural community as an arts administrator and a well-established career as an award-winning professional actor and writer. He has written for CBC radio, appeared on television and film, and produced numerous plays for the stage. Over the years working in the arts and culture sector he led several key organizations both as a board member and as senior staff including Theatre Nova Scotia, the Cultural Federations of Nova Scotia, and Strategic Arts Management. Christopher has degrees from the National Theatre School of Canada and McGill University. He has a deep personal commitment to the development of Culture in Nova Scotia. Christopher lives in Halifax with his talented wife, actor/writer Joanne Miller, and their three children.
